Obstetrics & Fertility

Congratulations on beginning this exciting part of your life! We are here to help see you through every step of your pregnancy, from the birthing process through post-partum care.

The planning and managing of your pregnancy begins with a thorough exam by Dr. Kaufman at your first prenatal visit. It is important that we get as complete an understanding as possible of your medical needs and circumstances. At this visit, we’ll gather information about your overall health and lifestyle, your family medical history, your past pregnancies, if any, and your menstrual history. Please inform us of any allergies you have and any medications you are currently taking. We will also perform a series of blood tests, not only to detect any potential problems such as anemia, but also to get vital information such as blood type, Rh-factor and blood sugar.

Dr. Kaufman only performs caesarean deliveries. For patients wanting to deliver vaginally, we provide superb pre and post natal care, but your delivery will be performed by the doctor of another office.

We’ll be available to assist you at every phase of your pregnancy and can answer any questions you may have. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us,

Usually, about 85 percent of couples can become pregnant within six to 12 months of having unprotected sexual intercourse. Then, approximately 50 percent of the remaining couples can achieve pregnancy within three years.

Infertility is the inability to become pregnant after a year of having frequent, unprotected sexual intercourse. In the United States alone, approximately 7 million couples have fertility problems. There are a number of factors that determine whether or not a couple will be able to successfully conceive. These factors can affect the man, woman or both. Occasionally, there is no explained reason.

Thanks to many advances in modern medicine and technology, fertility treatments are more effective and efficient than ever before.
